Local Suppliers
Designing a wedding invitation is a very personal and bespoke journey, but the suppliers and materials we use are just as important.
You can look at paper online, or see it on a screen, and think it looks great - but paper is something you really need to see and feel in person. The weight, texture and quality can feel completely different when you have it in your hands.
For us, the paper is almost as important as the design. The aesthetic, touch and quality all need to work together.
We always look for the highest quality papers and print suppliers here in Ireland. Working locally also means that if we need to add on quantities, make changes or try something a little different, we know who we’re working with and what's available to us.
Some of the suppliers we work with for paper, envelopes and printing include McGowans Print, Liberties Paper and Envelopes.ie.
We use a few different print suppliers depending on the brief and what we're trying to achieve. Building relationships with good suppliers is really important to us. We like working with people we know, trust and know will deliver a great product - while also supporting local Irish businesses wherever we can.
For our printed cards, we generally look at high-quality stocks around 300–350gsm, but there isn't one paper that works for every invitation. The stock needs to suit the design, and sometimes it's the little things — the texture of the paper, the colour of the envelope or the way a particular finish feels — that really make it.
There's something very different about seeing your invitations arrive, opening them up and finally holding something you've been working on together.
It's something you can keep for yourself, give to your parents or family, and eventually add into your wedding album - a little piece of the day that doesn't disappear after the wedding is over.
We think that's one of the nicest things about printed stationery.
